I am Lecturer at Brunel University London, and Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
An expert on migration and asylum matters, I obtained my PhD from King's College London, winning the King's Outstanding Thesis Prize. I am the author of 'The criminalisation of irregular migration in Europe' (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022).
My work lies at the intersection of international migration, public policy, and international relations. Specifically, I am interested in the governance of irregular migration, with a focus on deterrence, the criminalisation of migration, and the intricate relationship between migration, foreign policy and international relations.
Before joining Brunel, I was Lecturer at the University of East Anglia, and Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE). I was previously the Deputy Head of the Centre for Italian Politics at King's College London, of which I am still an affiliate.
